Mason's Smiles

Mason's Smiles

About me and this blog

Hi all, thanks for taking the time to read about my life and experiences as a parent to Mason.  I have decided to start this blog as a way for me to get my thoughts and feelings out, to update friends and family about Mason, and to help others understand autism and sensory integration issues. I am not an expert in autism at all, so all the information is based on my experiences with Mason.  Everyone with autism is completely different, which is always important to remember.

Let me tell you a little about me. My husband, Zach, and I have been married since December 30, 2005.  I am a high school health and teen leadership teacher.  I also have my Masters in School Counseling.  We had Mason on November 8, 2011.  We had tried for a year to get pregnant.  Having Mason was the best thing to happen to us.  On November 20, 2013, we had a miscarriage when I was 20 weeks pregnant with our little girl Grace Elizabeth.  Remembering that loss is an important part of our family. On January 28, 2015, we had our second son Jonas who has been a great addition to our family.
